Who we are

We are one of the leading German providers of EDI solutions and operate one of the largest EDI platforms in Germany. With the myOpenFactory EDI platform, small, medium-sized and large companies communicate electronically with their business partners in the simplest possible way. A single interface is sufficient - from the ERP system used to the myOpenFactory EDI platform. We work with our customers on innovative solutions for the automation and digitization of business processes every day. We achieve this with a great team: our employees have high standards for their own work and transparency towards our customers is always our top priority. We are an experienced, well-established team and are happy to assist you with all EDI needs.

The formation of myOpenFactory Software GmbH

Our History

myOpenFactory Software GmbH was founded about 15 years ago from a research project funded by the BMBF with a consortium of ERP manufacturers, mechanical engineering companies, the VDMA and the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of RWTH Aachen University under the leadership of FIR e. V. at RWTH Aachen University. The aim of the research project was to develop a common standard for Electronic Data Interchange in Germany that can be used by companies regardless of the ERP system used. Against this background, the quasi-standard “myOpenFactory” (DIN-PAS 1074) was created. As the lowest common denominator between customer and supplier, this standard is at the heart of today’s EDI platform.

Today, myOpenFactory Software GmbH is an active partner of the research institutes at RWTH Aachen Campus, where interdisciplinary teams of scientists and industry consortia work together on special questions of the future with visionary solutions. For example, myOpenFactory Software GmbH is a founding member of the Center Integrated Business Applications (CIBA), in which the FIR at RWTH Aachen University designs the next generation of operational application systems together with well-known software manufacturers.

For more than a decade, myOpenFactory Software GmbH organized the so-called EDI workshop as part of the event Aachener ERP-Tage of the FIR. A series of events with the aim of bringing EDI interested parties and myOpenFactory customers together for an exchange and informing them about currently relevant topics and platform innovations. Today, the EDI workshop takes place annually under the name EDI Forum in Aachen.
